CITY OF BUTLER, Pennsylvania Entry-level, Full- time Police Officer Civil Service Testing The civil service application required to apply for the position of entry-level, full-time police officer is available at the City Building, 140 West North Street, Butler, PA 16001. Applications received after that time will be rejected. A physical agility test and a written examination will be held on June 18, 2026 at 8:30 a.m., at the Allegheny County Police Academy, 700 West Ridge Drive, Allison Park, PA. Applicants must arrive by 8:00 a.m. A written examination will be given only to applicants who pass the physical agility test. Other mandatory components of the test for eligible applicants (based on their physical agility test and written test scores) include an oral examination, a background investigation, a medical examination, a vision examination and a psychological examination. Applicants will successfully be Pennsylvania Act 120 Certified under the provisions of the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission (MPOETC) (may be currently enrolled in ACT 120 program to take the exam) or will have successfully completed Act 120 Certification Training and successfully passed the final exam prior to hiring.
